Homebrewing 2 Meter Antennas
Doug Elliot VA3DAE
It's easy to make 2 meter antennas that work from cheap parts.Doug showed us how he discovered techniques for throwing together bits of plumbing, measuring tape, nails and simple copper wire while minimizing not only SWR, but also torch burns, electrical shock, and loss of body parts.
Doug even showed us how a regular trombone could not only make music (well, kind of) BUT could be loaded up as a 2 Meter Jpole.
The presentation was enjoyed by all, and resulted in a lot of good questions.
At the end of the presentations, John Watson VA3EZP showed the club two other interesting 2 Meter antenna designs from the 1950's.
