Thu Oct 23 Middlesex County SET (Simulated Emergency Test) - "Operation Rotten Rail" ARES members assist at 5 locations in an exercise where a railroad car supposedly leaking a toxic chemical passes through Middlesex county.

Sat Oct 25 York Region Hamfest - Sponsored by York Region Amateur Radio Club at the Markham Fairgrounds - McCowan Road at Elgin Mills Road E. Markham, ON. Opens to Public at 9:00 am. Cost $6.00 per person, children under 12 free. Talk-in on VE3YRA -145.350
